Subsequent to his arrest, Vargas was found carrying another suitcase, leading to the seizure of more suspected fentanyl packaged in 50,000 glassines.

Upon investigating Vargas’s Bronx apartment, law enforcement discovered alarming conditions, with windows covered in black plastic trash bags. The search unveiled one kilogram of fentanyl, six pounds of loose powder, 10,000 filled glassines, and various packing materials. This discovery follows the arrests of Renny Antonio Parra Parades, Grei Mendez De Ventura, and neighbor Carlisto Acevedo Brito in connection to the fentanyl overdose incident at the daycare.
