Ransomed.vc, the hacking group behind the attack, announced that they have successfully compromised all of Sony’s systems. Contrary to typical ransomware attacks, the group declared that they would not be demanding a ransom from Sony. Instead, they plan to sell the data they have acquired, citing Sony’s refusal to pay. Ransomed.vc has left contact information for Sony to get in touch and has indicated a “post date” of September 28, hinting that they may publicly release the stolen data at that time.
